Since 1945, the folks running Cherry Cricket in the Cherry Creek neighborhood of Denver have been shaking things up as it were with famous burgers and awesome shakes. After more than 70 years they are finally expanding and what better place to grab some food, some drinks and play some games than right across the street from Coors Field. The space on Blake St. has all of the telltale signs of the original. A large bar area, an even larger dining room, a shake shack off of the main entrance, a lounge for games such as Rockem’ Sockem’ Robots and a decent game room with air hockey and video games. The food is what you have come to expect from the neighborhood staple. I know what you’re going to say when you look at the photos. You didn’t try the burger?!? Why is there a photo of green chili?!? Well sometimes things don’t always go according to plan. The grill wasn’t lit and it would have taken too long to prepare for so I tried the green chili and, to be honest, it is one of the best green chilies I have had since moving to Denver. That’s a bold statement since everyone and their mother makes green chili out here!
