The end of World War II was a time for celebration. Years of destruction and death over in an instant. It was a time for dancing, music, drinking and more. People came out into the streets after the announcement came over the radio waves and the party started. That same feeling of celebration came to Boulder for the annual 1940s WWII Era Ball. A themed and costumed ball that incorporated much of those same emotions. There was music and dancing, 40s era war planes, cars, and even a tank. Most of the attendees were dressed in period garb, complete with victory rolls, hats, dresses, suits, uniforms and more. The 1940s Ball is by far one of the best events I have had the privilege to photograph and I personally can’t wait for the next one!
